Re-Enrolment for Continuing Students

Continuing students should enrol on line by the due date provided by the program officer, Jan Cooper. Normally students will be contacted by email in October/November. All re- enrolling students will be asked to complete their blocks 1 and 2 enrolment on line for all year between 8 and 12 December and blocks 3 and 4 between 11 and 29 May. Detailed information will be sent to all students by email in November. Confirmation of enrolment is available on the website www.my.unsw.edu.au

Downgrading & Upgrading

All re-enrolling students wishing to upgrade to either the Diploma or Masters programs need to advise the course office by no later than November 14th..

Adding Courses

If you wish to add a course (Module) after your initial enrolment, you must obtain the approval of the course advisor before submitting your application. The deadlines for adding courses to your program are:
  • Block 1: December 19
  • Block 2: February 1
  • Block 3: May 30
  • Block 4: June 27
Adding a course to your current enrolment after these dates usually incurs a late enrolment fee of AUS$250.

Discontinuation without Failure

You may withdraw from a course without failure provided that your application is received by the program office on or before the following dates:
  • Block 1: February 28
  • Block 2 : March 30
  • Block 3 : July 31
  • Block 4 : August 30
Please note that if you discontinue after these dates you will remain liable for payment of course fees.

Study Leave

Study leave may be granted to postgraduate students. Leave is generally restricted to a total of two sessions. Applications for leave in excess of two sessions will be considered only in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Program Authority. Leave should be sought before the census dates: 31 March for Session 1 or for the whole year; or before 31 August for Session 2. A student who discontinues a course with or without failure after the census date for a session retains an enrolment record for that session and is subject to the rules for re-enrolment. If you discontinue after the Session 1 census date you may apply for leave for Session 2.

Changing Your Current Enrolment

Students willing to vary their enrolment, by adding or dropping courses, and taking study leave for a period of 6 or 12 months are required to fill in Variation of Enrolment Form. This form should be sent to the Drug Development Office by mail or fax (02 9385 2044). To vary your enrolment without penalties, please refer to dates listed above.

Returning Study Materials Upon Discontinuation

Students who discontinue a course before payment of fees for that course are required to return ALL Study Materials including the manual, tapes, CDs and other materials within fourteen days of discontinuation at their expense.

It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the Study Materials are received at the program office within the allocated time.

If a student does not return the Study Materials by the due date, he or she will be liable for a fee of $500.00 per set of materials. This fee represents a small part of the value of the intellectual property of the Study Materials and also goes some way to covering the cost of production and dispatch. Where payment of fees is outstanding, course results for completed modules can be withheld.

This fee does not apply to students who discontinue from courses after the census dates and have paid their tuition fees.
